The best candidates for liposuction in Maryland will have a stable body weight and good skin tone. Liposuction is not a treatment for obesity. How is liposuction performed? h3

Liposuction is performed under general anesthesia on an outpatient basis in our accredited surgical center. Dr. Will makes small (less than 1/2 inch), discreet incisions in the areas to be treated. A small tube called a cannula is inserted in an incision that allows the targeted fat to be suctioned. The procedure may take an hour or more, depending on how many areas are treated. To maintain the safety of the procedure, there is a limit on how much can be done at one time.

Newer liposuction methods, such as laser liposuction, are performed using the same basic procedures while adding laser energy to enhance effectiveness.
